Dr. Sangmi Lim, a native of Republic of Korea, is an active performer, appearing frequently as a soloist, chamber musician and collaborative pianist. She has performed in Republic of Korea, Japan, Italy, Bosnia and Herzegovina and throughout the United States.
She has appeared as soloist with the Kankakee Valley Symphony Orchestra (IL), the MSU Symphony Orchestra (MI), Jackson Symphony Orchestra (MI), the Algeu Symphony (Germany), and the Kyounggi Philharmonic Orchestra (Republic of Korea). She has also given solo recitals and chamber music performances in concert series and festivals such as the Renaissance Festival (Italy), South Hampton Music Festival (New York), Schubertiade (Chicago), West Circle Series (MI), Lansing Symphony Chamber Music Series (MI), Absolute Music Chamber Series (MI) the Rising New Star Concert Series (Republic of Korea), Live Concert Series with Arirang TV (Republic of Korea) and Sarajevo Chamber Music Festival (Bosnia and Herzegovina). She earned her B.M. and M.M. in Piano Performance from Ewha Womans University in Korea and also M.M. in Collaborative Piano and D.M.A. in Piano Performance from Michigan State University. Currently, Dr. Lim teaches at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and is a co-director of the TAMU-CC Piano Celebration Week. Her other teaching experience includes work at Michigan State University and Lansing Community College. Additionally, she serves as a faculty member at New England Music Camp since 2009. Dr. Lim’s professional affiliation include the Music Teachers National Association.
